This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies this website uses, why, and how you can control them. Last updated: 3 September 2026.
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on alfordzinternational.com. “Similar technologies” includes things like local storage in your browser and small tracking images (“pixels”). We use the word “cookies” below to cover all of them. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
By default, this website only uses technologies that are strictly necessary for it to work. The one third-party feature that would set a non-essential cookie – an embedded map on the Contact page – does not load until you choose to load it.
| Technology | Provider | Purpose | Category | Party | Consent needed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Page cache | LiteSpeed (on our server) | Serve pages quickly | Strictly necessary | First party | No – no cookie is set for ordinary visitors |
| WordPress session / login cookies | WordPress | Only used if a site administrator signs in; there is no public login or comments | Strictly necessary | First party | No |
| Interface preferences in local storage | Our website | Remember small display choices, e.g. whether a form panel is minimised | Strictly necessary / functional | First party | No – no personal data |
| Embedded map (Google Maps) | Show our Aberdeen correspondence address on a map on the Contact page | Functionality (third-party cookies) | Third party | Yes – loads only when you click to load it | |
| Web fonts | Google Fonts | Typography | Functionality – asset request, no cookie | Third party | No cookie; your IP address is sent to Google to deliver the font |
| Icon font | Font Awesome (via cdnjs / Cloudflare) | Display icons | Functionality – asset request, no cookie | Third party | No cookie; your IP address is sent to the CDN to deliver the file |
This website does not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, the Meta (Facebook) pixel, advertising cookies, reCAPTCHA, session-recording tools or live-chat widgets.
We do not treat a technology as “strictly necessary” just because it is useful to us.
When a non-essential technology is present, we show a short notice giving you a clear choice. In that notice:
On the Contact page, the map area shows a placeholder with a “Load map” button. The map, and any Google cookies, load only if you press it. You can also open the map directly on Google Maps using the link provided.
To display fonts and icons, this website currently loads files from Google Fonts and from a content delivery network (cdnjs, operated by Cloudflare). These requests do not set cookies, but they do send your IP address to those providers so the files can be delivered. We keep this under review and may move to serving these files from our own server.
You can also control and delete cookies through your browser settings, and set your browser to warn you when a cookie is being set. Browser controls are in addition to the choices we offer; blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
If we add or change a technology – for example if we introduce analytics – we will update this policy and the consent notice before it takes effect. This policy is effective from 3 September 2026. Questions can be sent to info@alfordzinternational.com. For background, see ICO guidance on storage and access technologies.
We use only strictly necessary cookies by default. One optional feature – an embedded map on our Contact page – uses Google and would set third-party cookies. Choose whether to allow optional features. Cookie Policy.
