UK Healthcare Careers

UK Healthcare Careers

Ethical support for qualified nurses and healthcare professionals who want to build a career in the UK — from NMC registration through to applications to suitable healthcare employers. This hub covers UK routes; employment and sponsorship are decided independently by employers and UK authorities.

What we help with

Two connected services for your UK healthcare career.

UK Nursing & NMC Registration

The full UK NMC route for qualified nurses — English test, CBT, application, OSCE and NMC PIN.

Ethical Healthcare Career Placement

Support with applications to employers and care providers that comply with the DHSC Code of Practice.

Why our healthcare-career support is different

Built around UK ethical recruitment standards.

Ethical Recruiters List

Alfordz International is included on the NHS Employers Ethical Recruiters List. Inclusion does not mean preferred-supplier, NHS-recommendation or approved-framework status.

No ‘guaranteed job’ claims

Employment and visa decisions rest with employers and UK authorities — we make the process navigable, not guaranteed.

Realistic timeline guidance

A realistic picture of your likely timeline, noting that timing varies with regulators, testing availability and employers.

One team, every stage

The same team from eligibility check through registration, placement, visa and your first weeks in the UK.

Training in-house

OET, IELTS and NMC CBT preparation delivered by our own tutors, built around current requirements.

Welfare first

Honest advice on cost, contracts and pay bands, and pastoral support after you arrive.

How the UK healthcare-career route works

The steps a nurse trained outside the UK follows to register with the NMC and apply to UK employers. See the NMC’s step-by-step overseas registration guide.

1
Check your readiness and evidence — qualification, home registration, experience and English
2
Submit your NMC eligibility and qualification application
3
Take the NMC computer-based test (CBT), booked and delivered through the NMC’s approved testing arrangements, while your application is processed
4
Provide your English, health, character, indemnity and other required evidence
5
The NMC evaluates your completed application and makes its decision
6
Separately, a UK employer may make a job offer and issue a Certificate of Sponsorship
7
Separately, you apply for the Health and Care Worker visa
8
Sit the OSCE in the UK, then receive your NMC PIN and register to practise

Healthcare Careers: common questions

In short: check your readiness and evidence; submit your NMC eligibility and qualification application; take the NMC CBT while it is processed; provide your English, health, character and indemnity evidence; and the NMC evaluates your completed application. Separately, a UK employer may offer a job with a Certificate of Sponsorship, you apply for the Health and Care Worker visa, and you sit the OSCE in the UK before your NMC PIN is issued.

For most nurses it takes a length of time that varies with the applicant, regulator, testing availability, employer and immigration processing. We can give you an indicative timeline for your situation, but it is not a commitment.

No. We do not charge candidates a fee to be introduced to an employer. Charges relate to genuine training, advisory and documentation services, which are quoted after your eligibility assessment.

No. Those decisions are made by employers and UK Visas and Immigration. We prepare you thoroughly and introduce you only to employers that comply with the NHS Code of Practice for international recruitment.
